Wipe down with a damp cloth - use warm water
-
If needed, add a bit of mild soap or dish detergent
-
Rinse off any soap residue with clean water
-
Dry it with a towel or let it air-dry

Deep Cleaning (Mud, Smells & Stains):
-
Soak the gear in warm, soapy water for 5-10 minutes
-
Use a soft brush or sponge to scrub stubborn dirt/stain
-
Rinse thoroughly
-
Pat dry with a towel or let it air-dry

What to Avoid:
-
Harsh Chemicals - bleach or acetone - they can break down the coating
-
Abrasive Scrubbers
-
High Heat - do not machine dry
-
Avoid soaking for long periods

Other Tips & Tricks:
Baking Soda Paste
-
For stubborn grime, mix baking soda with water to form a paste and scrub the area gently with a soft brush

Magic Eraser Touch Up
-
If you have a magic eraser sponge laying around somewhere in the house, use it to gently buff out surface marks or scuffs - perfect for light coloured gear.

Toothbrush Detail Clean
-
Use an old toothbrush to clean around buckles, rings and rivets where dirt or fur can build up.
White Vinegar Spray
-
Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Lightly mist, let it sit for a few minutes and wipe clean.

Dry Hardware After Cleaning
-
After cleaning / washing the gear, wipe down all metal hardware to prevent water spots or premature rusting; especially on solid brass.
